If you happened to watching Gray's Anatomy this week, then you probably heard about character Mark Sloan's broken penis.
Sloan's penile fracture, a.k.a. broken penis, happened while Sloan was having sex with Lexie, who later revealed that she caused his injury.
So what exactly is a penile fracture and what are the symptoms? According to Wikipedia, a penile fracture is an extremely rare injury caused by the rupture of the tunica albuginea, which envelops the corpus cavernosum penis. It is an uncommon injury, most often caused by a blunt trauma to an erect penis.
The symptoms of a "broken penis" are: A popping or cracking sound, significant pain, immediate flaccidity, and skin hematoma of various sizes are commonly associated with the event. These symptoms are similar to a common bruising or contusion of the penis.
